Butterflies can have a deep and powerful representation of life, representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope and life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. Christianity sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection.
Whilst the butterfly is typically viewed as fragile. However, radar records have revealed that Painted Ladies butterflies fly on their southbound migration at an average altitude of over 500 metres and at speeds of 30 mph. This butterfly undertakes a phenomenal 9,000 mile round trip from tropical Africa to the Arctic Circle which is almost double the length of the migrations undertaken by Monarch butterflies in North America.
Our beautiful real agate butterflies which have made a similar journey. The agate migrating all the way from Brazil and like the real thing, each butterfly is completely unique with no two ever the same.
